This folder contains correspondence from suppliers; correspondence and memoranda by various members of the laboratory staff, including Edison; and other documents relating to the ordering of supplies and equipment for the laboratory.
Most of this material is very routine and less than 10 percent of it has been selected. Most of the selected material is correspondence from Dr. A. E. Foote of Pennsylvania, who supplied Edison with minerals and chemicals. Also included is some correspondence concerning vacuum pumps and steam engines, which were used in connection with electric lighting experiments, and a few items that contain marginal comments by Edison or that provide significant information about the laboratory or its work.
