Document File Series -- 1880: (D-80-46) Telephone -- Foreign -- General
[D8046]

This folder contains correspondence, agreements, and other documents relating to the marketing of the telephone in Canada, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Some of the documents deal with Edison's foreign telephone patents.

Much of the correspondence is in the form of cable messages. Code names were frequently used for the authors and recipients of these cables. The following is a list of the most commonly used cable codes:
Menlo Park London—George E. Gouraud
Phonos—Edward H. Johnson

All of the documents have been selected except for duplicate copies of correspondence.
