This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to electric lighting and power. Included are letters pertaining to the alternating current controversy, electrocution, the Niagara Falls power project, and the disappearance of Edison's associate Frank McGowan in January 1890. There are also requests by schools for donations of electric lighting equipment.
Approximately 60 percent of the documents have been selected. The following categories of documents have not been selected: unsolicited inquiries regarding suggested improvements in dynamos, meters, and other central station equipment; other routine business correspondence.
