This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to mining and ore milling. Included are many requests for information about Edison's ore separation process. A few letters from Walter S. Mallory deal with the business of the Edison Iron Concentrating Co. There is also correspondence from John Birkinbine, a consulting engineer hired by Edison, concerning Edison's various mining properties, as well as requests from mine managers and owners for interviews with Edison. Two printed extracts from Transactions of the American Institute of Mining Engineers, pertaining to the treatment of magnetic iron ores, are also included.
