This folder contains correspondence and other documents pertaining to the purchase of equipment and supplies for the West Orange laboratory. Among the items for 1912 are letters to and from the Eastern Fibre Decorating Co. regarding the use of their fiber as a covering for disk phonograph turntables. Also included is correspondence concerning the procurement of a compressor and chemical supplies. Some of the documents relate to Edison's refusal to deal with the Crane Co., manufacturers of valves, fittings, and steam specialities.
Less than 5 percent of the documents have been selected. All of the items written by Edison or bearing his marginalia have been selected. The unselected material consists primarily of unsolicited correspondence from vendors and suppliers and routine documents concerning the settlement of accounts.
