This folder contains correspondence and other documents regarding Edison's opinions and widely publicized statements about immortality, theology, superstition, and related subjects. Also included is correspondence relating to religious organizations. Among the items for 1919 are unsolicited inquiries and essays on electricity and the supernatural, the occult, and the afterlife. Most of the letters received no answer. A few received replies stating that Edison was not a spiritualist or other perfunctory responses. Courtesy of Thomas Edison National Historical Park.
