This notebook contains dated entries for the years 1885-1886, 1891, 1897-1898, and 1909. There are also a few undated entries, probably from the period 1879-1885. All of the entries are by Charles Batchelor The notes, drawings, and calculations relate primarily to experiments on lamps and dynamos recorded between 1884 and 1886. Some of the material from 1891-1898 pertains to ore milling experiments. The undated entries include notes on the Edison-Sims torpedo motor and on patent interferences involving the telephone. There is also a copy of a telegram from Batchelor to Edison concerning the formation of the Edison United Manufacturing Co. The front inside leaf is marked "Mechanical motions Mch 10 1879."
