These nine notebooks, which cover the years 1912-1919, contain information on experiments performed at the Edison Chemical Works by superintendent Charles F. (Frank) Hunter and other employees working closely with Hunter, including George M. Darby, Andrew C. Ericksen, Zachariah P. Halpin, Charles A. Lanreigh, and Harry C. Leonard. Included are notes on various numbered experiments, many involving the preparation and testing of numbered batches of chemicals. Some of the experiments pertain to the chemicals used in Edison ventures such as battery production and disc record composition. The books by Hunter include some administrative notes, but they do not form a part of the daily record in the C. F. Hunter subgroup.
