These seventy-seven notebooks were used during the years 1910-1928 by numerous experimenters including Walter N. Archer, Elmer E. Dougherty, Charles Emerson, Andrew C. Ericksen, Walter E. Holland, F. Walter Horner, Miller Reese Hutchison, Whitney B. Jones, H. H. Meno Kammerhoff, Absalom M. Kennedy, Charles W. Norton, John Ober, W. J. O'Dair, Paul D. Payne, Edwin Smith, Jr., Harold H. Smith, Henry E. Thayer, and H. A. Wannamacher. Included are reports on tests relating to component parts of batteries and battery production. Also included are test reports on various uses of batteries, such as house lighting, miner's safety lamps, and a beach traction car. Some notebooks record data on tests of primary batteries. A few contain occasional entries pertaining to he manufacture of disc records.
