These twenty-three notebooks were used by various experimenters, including Leroy E. Briggs, Peter C. Christensen, William Walter Dinwiddie, Charles Edison, Zachariah P. Halpin, George E. Hart, William A. Hayes, Miller Reese Hutchison, Paul S. Laverty, Frederick P. Ott, and Ludwig P. Ott. Included are notes relating to batteries, phonograph records and machines, kinetoscopes, lighting and lamps, and chemicals. The books often contain notes by one main experimenter whose work covers a variety of technologies. Seven books have been selected in whole or in part.
