Ten books containing experimental accounts, records of royalties, and details of operating expenses have been selected. Included are four ledgers of summary accounts, three journals detailing daily transactions, two subsidiary ledgers summarizing monthly expenses incurred for various experiments at the laboratory, and a subsidiary investment ledger recording stocks, bonds, and mortgages.
The following items have not been selected: one subsidiary ledger of personal accounts payable (1891-1899); one book containing abstracts of materials and lists of suppliers (1897-1899); two subsidiary ledgers listing abstracts of expenses (1899-1908); three cash books (1901-1914); eight receiving books detailing items received, their costs, and companies of origin (1902-1912); and one shipping record book (1904-1911).
