The Jumbo was a periodical published in 1887-1888 by John and Theodore Miller under the name Miller Bros. In addition to general news and essays, there is a considerable amount of local news, including news about the comings and goings of various members of the Edison and Miller families and family friends. Vol. 1 (January 14, 1887-February 18, 1888) was published as a weekly. Vol. 2 was published as a monthly in April-June and October 1888 and as a weekly in November-December 1888.
There are two tightly bound sets of Vol. 1 at the Oliver Archives Center, along with loose copies of most issues. There are loose copies only for Vol. 2. The June and October issues of Vol. 2 are both identified as No. 3. There is no issue No. 4. It is not clear whether an issue is missing or the number was not used. Whenever available, the unbound copies of Vol. 1 have been scanned. Because of the tight binding, the quality of the images scanned from the bound set is inferior to that of the unbound issues.
