Established in 1840 by Alvin Adams and incorporated in 1854, this company is still in existence today. During the mid-nineteenth century, it was one of the three principal express companies in the United States, the others being Wells, Fargo & Co. and American Express. It had business dealings with TAE throughout 19th century and into 1900s. In 1906 the company began using the Edison storage battery in their delivery trucks. LB075060.
