Description: Newspaper or periodical. A popular mechanics\' magazine published by Munn & Co. that featured news of the U.S. Patent Office and promoted new inventions. It published numerous articles about TAE and his work.The magazine was founded by Rufus Porter (May 1, 1792-Aug. 13,1884) in 1845. Ten months he later sold it to Orson Desaix Munn (Jun. 11, 1824-Feb. 28, 1907) and Alfred Ely Beach (Sep 1, 1826-Jan. 1, 1896). Beach\'s father was an editor and publisher of the New York Sun and an inventor of importance.
