Newspaper or periodical. This journal, which was associated with the National Telegraphic Union, began publication in 1864 and continued to 1877, when it was absorbed by the Journal of the Telegraph. It publicized technical and business developments within the industry & represented the interests of the operators, in contrast to the Western Union-sponsored Journal of the Telegraph. Franklin Pope was its first editor, followed in 1868 by James Ashley. TAEB 1: 12, 26n., 137n TAE wrote numerous articles for this journal, beginning in January 1868. Edison National Historic Site has 13 volumes on microfilm.
